Established in 2008 under an Act of Indian Parliament, Indian Institute of Technology Patna is situated in Bihta, Patna, 40 km from the city center. The institute comprises ten departments, covering fields from Computer Science to Humanities & Social Sciences. By April 2016, the faculty numbered 101, including distinguished members like DST Ramanujan Faculty Fellow and adjunct professors, supported by over seventy efficient non-teaching staff.
